Atlanta skyline seen from Emory's campus

Emory is located in the booming city of Atlanta, the capital of the New South and one of the country’s most dynamic places to live, work, and learn.

As a top city for business, the capital of global public health, and a hub of arts, culture, and entertainment, it’s a city that has inspired partnerships and affiliations for years. And it’s a means to our mission of empowering community and making a real difference.

Partners in Impact

Our community is involved in and enriched by Atlanta, where we gain experience and work to solve the issues of our time.

Partnerships with the Georgia Research Alliance, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Georgia Tech, Morehouse School of Medicine, and more combine our expertise to make an impact in our region and the world.

More than 80 percent of undergraduates participate in community service, and our Center for Civic and Community Engagement connects students and faculty to more than 150 area nonprofits, governmental agencies, and community groups to address social issues and charitable causes.

A Vibrant Global City

A thriving international city, Atlanta has 26 consulates general and is home to the world’s busiest airport, with direct flights to hundreds of destinations across the globe.

Atlanta has the third-largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies, as well as global health organizations such as the American Cancer Society, the Carter Center, CARE, and the CDC.

Known for inclusion and diversity, Atlanta anchors a metropolitan region of more than 5.5 million residents and is home to the Center for Civil and Human Rights and the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change.

Atlanta is famed for its lush tree canopy, which extends to the Emory campus in the Druid Hills neighborhood. Enjoy the canopied paths at Emory, explore over 3,000 acres of Atlanta's parks, or take in the art and food scene along the BeltLine, a 22-mile pedestrian path linking the city's neighborhoods.

The city’s dynamic arts culture includes the High Museum, Atlanta Symphony, Alliance Theatre, and pro sports including the champion Atlanta United soccer team. Atlanta has one of the nation’s top food scenes, and most weekends offer lively neighborhood festivals and concerts, arts and craft fairs, and cultural celebrations.
